I'm a 46 year old reformed punk rocker/Social Worker from Portland Oregon.

I just picked up (my buddy says I rescued it) a 1988 Ranger GT, with the 2.9l 6 cylinder. I bought it off of a couple north of Vancouver, Washington for 1200 bucks. They mostly used it for hauling yard debris and such, and it mostly sat outside. It's got a lot of little dings and scraps in the paint, and the rubber around the windows is cracking.

The first thing I did was drain and change all the fluids, and bypass the heater core as it was shot. Like a fricken fog machine it was. I also ran some sea foam through it, to stabilize the gas.

Then I had to replace the whole rear end assembly. I put an 8.8 on that matched my 3.73 gear ratio, with the ten inch drums.

Still a ways to go, but i really love the way this thing rides. I'll post up some pics soon, but breakfast is ready.

Nice to meet you all.

Thanks, Jannock

Welcome to The Ranger Station!

You're gonna want that heat back in a couple months.

Breakfast????

More on the GT.

Lol, ok more like brunch then.

I also do plan on popping a new heater core in very soon.

Though it can wait for a few more important issues that I feel take priority, particularly the front end needs new brake rotors, so that is next. Stopping takes priority over heat in my book. The ones on there now are warped. Then tires that are all the same size and have been balanced. The ones on there now where mounted backwards for some reason, and one of them is a different tire, and slightly different size. Then I want to get the windows seals changed out before the rains hit. It rains a lot here. After that, I'll be changing the heater core, and adding a stereo.

Here's some pics

Looks great in the pics! I'm jealous of the 40/60 bench you've got there.

Thanks man! Is that a rare seat config? I was suprised at how good the interior looked. Sadly much of the interior doo-dads are disconnected, such as the idiot lights and the cruise control.

Welcome to our little slice of Ranger heaven on the internet.
