HELP!! No start

How many quarts of fuel do you suppose it would take to make its way through the entire fuel rail, to where fresh, pure, unadulterated fuel will be spraying the combustion chamber????:icon_confused: I'm hoping that 99% of the old gas I pumped out would have taken the water with it and whatever remained will be treated with Heet to and remixed with new.

the fuel in the rails will circulate back through the return line to the gas tank and be mixed with fresh gas very quickly. its already fresh, if he has turned it over much at all. has he checked if the distributor is firing on the correct stroke? it sounds 180 degrees off to me.

I think low_five is on the right track, that or the plug wires are wrong. How did you check to make sure you were on TDC of the compression stroke when putting in the dist? Pull #1 plug out, turn the engine until air shoots your finger out, put balancer on the T/C mark, and check where the rotor is. Might not be firing injectors either, definitely check for fuel in the cylinders.

Absolutely, 100% sure timing is right. I've had the dizzy in an out countless times without problem...till I had the intake off. Timing mark on balancer is on the money, the rotor is pointing directly at #1 plug wire, I also made a pencil mark on firewall for quick reference. Its getting fuel and spark......so water in fuel was only other option. I hooked up my timing light and cranked engine and timing mark is right at 10ish-12 Deg.

can you do me a favor and take the wire from plug number one and put it over on plug number 5. then put the wire from plug 5 and put it on plug 1, and try to start it. im curious to see what happens.

Nothing happened....not a d&%n thing.....not a wheez, pop, snort etc.

Just a thought.. Did you check to ensure your map sensor is getting 5v in, and voltage out. I was trying to diagnose my rich condition, unplugged the map sensor, and it died.. Wouldnt start, or anything with it.. just a thought.. MAP sensor is either on the firewall, or behind the airbox on the passenger side.

I'll check into that. Is that the thing with the red and green vacuum lines and should there be 5v with key on?

Update........found MAP sensor on firewall. Got 5v in and 5v out. Still no start.

Still tryin to figure this thing out. I found the O2 wire harness was or had been laying up against the exhaust manifold which had of course melted the wires and connector. Now problem is I dont remember how it was wired. I know the O2 wires are 2 BLK and 1 WHT. The wires on the truck are GRN, BLK/GRN, and Yellow/stripe. The new wires on the connector are Yellow, Blk/ WHT stripe and Black. Someone shoot me a pic??? porfavor.....or just tell me what color wires on O2 go where.
