HELP!! No start

Too bad I live in maple valley about 60 miles from Everett you can call me 206-909-3308 and I can give you pointers on where to test. Kim

I 'll keep it in mind. I have a bazillion other things to do.

The stator/pickup. only costs about twenty dollars, but you have to take apart the distributor to change it.

You will know if it is bad by checking the spark on each wire. Wire with no spark? Bad wire or pickup.

it's like following the money. Check the coil. Spark? check to make sure distributor is on TDC compression stroke AND that the rotor is spinning And that the wires are applied correctly. Yes? Check the spark at the end of each wire. Spark on each? Not a problem with the pickup or coil. The spark has been delivered and at the right time.

If you have spark go to fuel delivery and follow the money.

the tech library under TFI diagnostics will show you how to test the PIP or hall sensor pickup in the dizzy as well as the coil and module. start with the coil then the module and then the pickup in the dizzy are you sure all the wires and connectors are good.

I've done it on my F-150 some years back. I'll read up on the TFI diagnostics some more and check the hall effect thingy and the pick-up. If you haven't guessed, yeah I'm kinda throwing parts at it. I got the truck for free, so far Im only into it a couple of dead Benjamins, so this isn't like.....breaking my bank account...yet. Just causing me more fustrations than I need. Thank God the store is close to keep my beer supply going!!

Thank God I have a friend with a brewery! Cases of Micro in the garage just waiting to be downed every time I work on the truck. Browns, espressos, Cascadian Darks, IPA's.

Pretty much kicks ass.

Yea rain and hail and sunshine here all day

Oh....was that bright thing the sun?? I think I saw it for a few minutes. I heard that the hail wasn't hail.....it was graupel??? Only in Washington...

Thanks for your number....I have it in my phone so I'm probably going to ring you up for some help on this little beast. I got it licensed yesterday (been almost 5yrs) so I want to start driving it soon. Im hoping the spring weather returns today.

Ho-kay.....bought new dizzy yesterday. No change, No start. So to recap...has new coil, has new TFI module and now new dizzy. Probably not much else to replace. Time to dig deeper. PCM bad?? EEC relay bad?? Any thoughts??? I was reading through the tech library and theres a mention about a power relay. Is it with the fuses? Or is that a reference to the EEC relay?? I realize there is a procedure to verify if theres spark and fuel, but im going with the thought that if its new, its good. I can smell gas after I've been cranking it for awhile, usually after the battery starts to lose its oomph.

Next to the computer on the wall in front of the passenger door is where mine was or by the start solenoid is the EEC relay you should hear it click when you turn the key on or a few seconds after you turn the ignition off. It shoud have 5 pins on the relay the fuel pump has 4. call me at 206-909-3308 Kim

Did verifiy I have spark and getting fuel. Big Thanks to Kimcrwbr1 for your assistance. Even after checking for the aforementioned conditions, still will not start. SO I drained the gas out of it am going to get fresh gas tonight, but not from Shell.....not sure if thats the culprit, but it need to be ruled out. Do these RBV's have a oil pressure cut-off switch?? Or just a sending unit?

I remember reading on how to get the fuel pumps running with the self test connector so he can pump good fuel into the rails. And fill a couple mason jars with fuel to clear the system. Does he need to pull the fuel rails to drain them also I had him try and light the wet plugs and they did not burn if it was me I would pull the rails and injectors to drain them first but that leaves the possibility of getting leaky seals. We confirmed spark and timing what is the best way to get good fuel to the cylinders and how do you run the pumps using the test connector.
