Im at wits end....it ran fine before I pulled the intake to fix the oil leak. I've double checked the timing and the firing order. Replaced the coil and the TFI module, sprayed starting fluid down the TB and got one pop out of it. I didnt mess with anything else. I can hear the FP priming each time I hit the key. Searched other posts on here and haven't found any answers. :dunno:

Get a multimeter and look in the tech library for TFI diagnostics before you spend any more money did you connect everything up or miss a ground somewhere. Did you double check the timing and do you get a spark at all.:dunno:

k. so you must not be gettting spark, because you used starting fluid and didnt get anything. BUT. you said you checked the timing... how did you do that? are you getting spark at all? are you sure that you are on TDC of the compression stroke? did you pull the distributor to pull the intake? I dont remember if you have to or not.

you don't have to pull the distributor to remove the intake, but sometimes it is easier depending on what you are doing.

Take the cap off. Take out the #1 plug and make sure you are the compression stroke (you can feel the air come out). Check to make sure the dizzy rotor is pointed to your #1 wire on the cap and go from there.

Did you unplug your injector wires and not plug them back in?

thats what Im thinking too.

Once I uplugged a few things to make sure the connectors was good(including the coil) and then no start:( My friend put it on a diagnostic computer, jiggled the coil plug-in and it started right up. The plug in looked fine but was bad. Might not be your problem but it's something you might look at.

I checked the timing by lining up the timing marks on the balancer, removed the cap and made sure the rotor was pointing at #1 spark plug wire. I made a mark on the firewall for reference about a week before I did the intake gaskets I've had the dist. in and out several times trying to stop the oil leak. Yes, I have double checked the grounds and have double-triple checked all the electrical plugs namely the one for the injectors. Please keep the suggestions coming....someone is bound to hit on something I've missed or did not think of. I also have a feeling its something simple....starting to lean towards a bad/broken wire. Oh...yeah, I've done some reading in the tech library, thats why I went ahead and bought a new TFI mod and coil. Both had
XXX,XXX miles on them so I felt it was cheap insurance and now I know they are good. Process of elimination......to a point.

Ok so back up are you getting fuel and spark. To check your coil turn the ignition on check for power to the coil and the TFI connector at the dizzy. if you have power to the coil put a spark plug in the coil wire from the dizzy and ground the plug and use a jumper wire from the negative side of the coil to ground you should get a spark don`t hold the wire there just quickly touch it you should get a brite blue spark.

Just replacing parts is useless if the wires are not working get a volt ohm meter and start testing the circuits do you have a wiring diagram.

Not a good diagram. You have an idea where I can find one thats useable?? Have volt ohm meter.....

sometimes you can get lucky and find one at the bone yard but any part store should have one. Are you getting power to the coil and can you make it spark. when you were messing with the harness did you pull a connector by the coil loose accidentally. Take a small screwdriver or ice pick and push all the wires into all the connectors you can by the back side I am betting on a loose wire or connector take them apart and inspect them for corrosion and get a tube of dielectric grease to put them back together.

Too bad I live in maple valley about 60 miles from Everett you can call me 206-909-3308 and I can give you pointers on where to test. Kim

Its getting fuel, I bled the pressure off the fuel rail by using the schraeder valve and I got some fuel out of it. I got 12v at the connector to the TFI
