If that engine spit a pushrod... it was only running on 5 cylinders. Hard to believe you didn't notice a dead miss...

What do the ends of the pushrod and rocker adjuster look like?

It kinda looks as if the lifter seat is damaged.

There’s no damage to the pushrod but the rocker assembly has a little damage but I don’t think it’s a problem but I don’t know

Yeah... the rocker got damaged from the pushrod rod. You sure the push rod isn't banged up too?

What about the adjusting screw?

It looks good and the adjusting screw is good the rod just doesn’t have anywhere to sit in the engine

I edited your first post and set it to display full sized images.

It appears the lifter is stuck in the lifter bore?

Can you push it back down?

I can try, should I use a penetrating fluid like wd-40 or pb blaster to get it free then tap it down with a screwdriver

Also thank you for your help

No... if it won't just slide right down... there is likely damage to the lifter and possibly the block.

Sounds like it got damaged is some fashion. Either it swelled, bulged, or got bent just enough to not just drop in.

when i had an engine with a bad (bent) pushrod, you could sure tell it was misfiring. it was on a v8 and it popped and backfired through the carb the whole time

The rod isn’t bent but I think the lifter is messed up
