So I've been trying to get my ranger to start it's getting fuel and battery but no spark I've looked at the CMP and it looks fine also the plugs and wires have been done as well as fuel pump any clues it's a 97 ranger XLT 2.3

You have a 2.3l SOHC Lima engine in a 1997 Ranger

These use a Timing belt......................and the belt can break, doesn't hurt the engine but No START

Look behind the timing belt cover to see the belt and if possible have someone try to start engine to see if belt is moving, turning the cam

Other than that look at the CEL(check engine light) on the dash
It should come ON with key on, that means computer is powered up
And CEL should go OFF when engine is turning(trying to start it), that means the Crank Sensor is working and computer is getting a timing pulse
No timing pulse means no spark

That's the part that makes me think of an electrical component or ground or power somewhere, I wouldn't fire up the parts cannon before checking grounds and hooking up with an OBD II reader and looking for rpm or codes.
