Just 'cause you ain't paranoid don't mean they ain't out to get ya.
Ok, 1990 ranger 2.3. Heater hoses run from the motor to the heater core, one has a "T" with a 3/8 branch. Hose goes around the back of the valve cover, connects to a steel line that drops down the drivers side of the block. Question is A), what does it go to, and B), can i eliminate that hose? TIA.

It goes to intake manifold and there is another hose on the intake manifold that allows coolant to flow OUT

These are there to keep the intake from freezing in cold weather, prevents ICING in the air/fuel mix

You can eliminate/block these two hoses, owners choice

Google: Ford Ranger Intake Manifold Hot Water Bypass - Cooler Air In 5 Minutes

Watch the 5:13 video, you will get the idea

And no, it won't give you more power, like the man in the video thinks
But you do need to deal with BOTH hoses or you will have a big leak on your hands
