healthcare reform??

No differant than requiring insurance, plates, seatbelts, filing tax returns, getting ss#,had to get a # for my kids when they were born.I didn't get mine until I got my first job.Our congress does not represent the people.I wish that I had a choice in all those things. So I ask again how free are we?

difference is ..... you are not required to own or drive a car. This bill will require you to buy health insurance or the IRS will take your life away.

Don't file your taxes and the IRS can take your life away.

You want health care reform ...... do away with lawyers.
DING DING DING! Tort reform would make it affordable for everyone, well that and allowing it to be sold as "commerce", wait isn't that how the Fed's say they are allowed to force people to buy it?

Doesn't everyone with a ss# belong to the gov't already? How much freedom do we really have anyway?
A rapidly dwindling amount of freedom. I'd like to keep what little I have and I'd like some back

Incorrect, those laws are state laws, the federal government has no say in the matter, or at least shouldn't.

However, what happens is, they threaten funding for streets and highways. Ever hear of 55mph speed limits or .08 DUI levels? Those came about by the Federal Government extorting the states to comply to their will.

What needs to happen is, one state needs the balls to stand up and say enough is enough. Individual threats or actions are futile, only the States can make them listen.

Pay close attention to who is being elected to your state branches of government. That's who either looks out for you, or doesn't.

I work for a company that was recently purchased by a German company. One of the new German employees came in and was like "wow I can get $8000 of your goverment's money for buying a house!" AAARGH. he can! The whole problem is that the insurance companies are for profit entities. If, like is common in Europe, they were not, they wouldn't have their fingers in our pockets. I think most of our elected officials just took economics .000101

We are sooooo deep into debt i'd be interested to see what happens when china wants their money back what is going to happen?

The grand plan is to find a way to tax everyone to the point of being equal and the government to rule surpreme. This is only the beginning. They are already working on another bill (works bill or something). And somewhere down the line, they will probably aim for gun owners (again). Another stupid tax that was imposed, was one for free energy from wind turbines. Trying to tax the energy you get free from your own wind turbine. But I believe that one failed.

I wonder in the near future, what won't be taxed?

Very good post, but it isn't Communism either, it's Marxism.

You are correct...

But to most people true "communism" is unknown (and a crack pipe dream)
and indistinguishable from what is more precisely known as "Marxism"

When I see all this, it makes me chuckle, in a kind of an insane way. But it would seem that Joe McCarthy was right.

I haven't been fortunate enough to land that super sweet job with nice health insurance right off the bat. Despite 6 years of college.

Would I like to see a national healthcare plan? Absolutely. If I get injured, get cancer, suffer some horrible medical mishap, I'm screwed. I cannot pay it.

Do I want this one passed? If it's the one that forces me to buy healthcare, OR ELSE, then very much NO. That's a ridiculous way to solve it, because if I could afford that, I would have done that already. I'm rewiring things for my dad and neighbors and family, fixing cars, cutting down trees, stuff I could seriously hurt myself doing.

I'm barely scraping by as it is...

Yeah but just like the 55mph speed law if they dont comply they will pull federal funding from that state.
