Today I just installed two new bulbs into my HVAC, so I went LED because of the color, clarity, and it pulling less voltage.

Tonight as I went to leave my dads to drive to my house, my headlights wont turn on all of a sudden. :icon_confused: So I went back and put the old halogen bulbs in to see if the HVAC was messing with it, nothing still.

Day running lights work, but not the headlights. So I say screw it, im a rebel, ill drive home with my daylights on and stay on the well lit streets. :thefinger: About half way home I hit a bump in the road and they pop on. SWEET! Get home, and get kinda curious, turn them off and go to turn it back on and they wont come on. :annoyed: Any ideas? It wouldnt be a fuse, otherwise they wouldnt work. It wouldnt be my dimmer switch cuz it would be done.

So my only possible thing I could think of is a loose connection or wiring somewhere? Also yes, I do have one of those Bi-Xenon HID conversion kits, but no problems with them what so ever. Just kinda seems like the inital voltage load isnt allowing the headlights to come on. All the other gauge cluster/HVAC lights pop on no problem.

Suggestions on where to start?

I had the same problem with my HID kit. If yours is like mine, (I think they're all relatively the same), the kit draws power into the ballast from the stock wiring harness. Make sure the ballast is connected well to the power supply and I suggest using electrical tape to wrap them after they are securely attatched. if this does not fix your problem, check the other connections in your HID kit, such as the connection between the ballast and the aftermarket bulb, and wrap with tape to secure them as needed. This should resolve the issue.

Okay thanks man, I'll check it out tomorrow

Still can't figure out the problem. I didnt have any loose connections.

Hmmm... Possibly it's a loose connection in a different location? The reason I think it might be a connection is due to them coming on after a bump. Maybe someone else has a more helpful answer? I tried my best :/

Sounds like the ballast could be going bad. Do they flicker at all when they are on? My chicks bimmer would do this but it was sure to a bad ground....in the tail light no joke. Anyways you could double check your grounds, that's an excellent starting place. next time they don't work check for continuity at the connector ground to the chassis.

Also does it have a relay? You could try swapping it to see if it's acting up.
