Hi,, Have you tried installing an electric fan(s), back-flushed cooling system, engine, radiator, heater hoses and core? how's the water pump and thermostat, does it have a tranny cooler? does it have the free-wheeling fan(clutch type)? make sure all hoses are good,, sometimes they can collapse especially the bottom hose(return to engine from radiator). whats the mixture ratio of your coolant,, 50/50? just my opinion,, someone else may chime in. :icon_thumby:good luck.

Which rad are you running in it?

Go to the bone yard and buy a 4.0 rad from another ranger.

thanks for the help guys

i do have electric fans and yes a tranny cooler my hoses are good and everything is fine i just think my rad is to small to run my big tires and my heavy foot so i ordered a dual core rad 28'' x 19''

I hope you don't cool it down too much...in Alberta winter is a four letter word (COLD)...you may find it difficult to get any heat in your truck if it's too efficient...

I just changed my rad...it was overheating too...now, even on the hottest days sitting at idle in traffic I can barely get the needle to move off the C...and, much as I hate overheatiing and am elated that the new rad is in place...I'm danged concerned about freezing my cajones off this winter...and it will BE the COLDEST winter in a long time...

That's my prediction...but I guess you could always cover the front end of the vehicle with a flap or something...
