here's getting the face laid out.basic geometry.

and cut out.

rather than laying out the one for the other side,i just traced the one i just did.

after rounding the edges,it's ready for welding.

bandsaw.

i got a good deal on an old meatcutting saw a while ago that is a very solid unit....and the blade that was in it when i got it works well on aluminum and wood.i'll need to slow it down a bit to use it on steel.

on inside radius corners i holesawed the corner first,then cut the straight parts with the bandsaw.

this is the bandsaw i got.i paid $250 for it,and it's in near perfect shape....but it's obsolete for the butcher shop.

that's a 3hp motor hiding under the cover.lots of power,and this thing weighs about 400lbs,so it's very stable.

not as big as the saw i had in mission,but still lots for most of what i'm doing.

this was the one downside...it had a sliding table on it,i had to remove that for my use-but i still need to make a new platform to replace it.

Mine's a 3/4 horse 14" throat. From what I'm seeing though it looks like I can get a lot done with mine so long as I'm patient.

hm.3/4 hp sounds low for a 14'' two wheel.

slow cutting was what i didn't like about my delta.this meat saw you can push right into it and it doesn't slow down.i'm pretty happy,i didn't even know if it worked when i bought it.

It's a 2 speed and apparently it's a 1.5 horse, once again I've proven myself a retard.
