Gt-12

You need to rough up the metal and then use a good quality contact cement. Gwaii will probably post a brand name for you that is indestructable.

i wish i could...woodwork has never been one of my strongpoints.

i figured i'd just start experimenting.

I'll never understood how guys with your insane level of fab skills always seem to be bad at wood work.

Just pretend it's a piece of sheet metal, switch your jigsaw blade to something with less teeth and work your magic.

Finally read from start to finish, took a minute or two.

Seems you're just a tad ahead of schedule, or has the schedule changed?

Awesome build as usual! Get this thing going so you can get back to the truck!

This thing is jaw dropping. ME & a couple of my buddys that all hang out & work on our trucks literally sat around my laptop in my garage & read the entire thread. You sir are my hero. Haha. This thing is going to be nasty when your done. Good work man.

My Dad's a retired Master carpenter, from custom made furniture to concrete forms he was the man.
Give me a pile of metal and a blueprint that looks like a map of downtown Atlanta and I can get the job done.:icon_welder:
When it comes to wood............I cant build a box...:annoyed:

ya,my dad was all into that wood stuff too.

i just don't get it.aluminum don't split when you try to put a screw into it.

Just because he can't come up with a brand name of an indestructable contact cement and readily admits that woodwork is not his strong point, don't expect to see some half ass'd dashboard. I can imagine it now, rosewood with a few good coats of marine varnish. Everyone will want one to put on the mantle shelf, perhaps with a clock and barometer in it.

You mean to tell me you can't see in the dark? I thought that was a prerequisite to live on the island

oh,it'll be nice.

as i pointed out when looking for a tach,i have to look at this dash all the time.if it's not right,it'll just piss me off.

rosewood is nice, but i was actually thinking birdseye maple.i won't know till i get to that point though.got some research to do.
