got a free ranger and cant get in running

got a 1988 ranger 2.0 cant get running.i changed the fuel pump,changed the plugs, checked the timing no 1 cyl up on compression stroke rotor line up with no 1 plug wire.changed carbs with another used carb,checked fire and firing order. the motor will almost start up. run about 15 to 20 seconds but wont reach full idle.runs really weak, gas tank no good bypassed tank set a tank on floor, ran hose to fuel pump. carb seem 2 b getting gas.when pushing pedal acceleration pump seems to b pushing gas into carb
