well i bought some stuff from a member on here awhile back(12-13-10). i sent a post office money order. well i havent heard from them in about a month, and havent seen my stuff. how can i go about getting my money back? i still have the money order reciept, but im not sure if the post office will even refund my money. ive tried to pm said member a few times and havent even heard anything. any ideas guys?? i bought some parts from another member the same day, the same way, and i recieved the parts about 3 days later and installed them. i think ive been got

have you tried to email or contact him on the status? if you have tried contacting him and no response, you might be out of luck. if that is the case, be sure to post up his name to let the rest of us know who the dirtbag is. on the other hand, he might be busy due to the hollidays, and i would try to get ahold of him again just to make sure.

can you find out if the check has been cashed? that will at least tell you if he recieved and cashed it. if it has not been cashed, you might be able to put a stop pay on it for a fee and then walk away from the deal.

what he said. find out if the check has been cashed. if its still there, take it back and look elsewhere for your parts

you're shit out of luck with the USPS money order whether it's cashed or not. USPS won't refund unless the MO was damaged.

Yeah this... I'd wait till Wednesday and let the flaming begin if nothing has changed. Email him and say if I ain't heard from you by Wednesday then I'm posting up your username. Also call your local PD and see If their are any laws that could help you get some money back.

And.....this is why I never do online stuff without paypal, consider using paypal from now on.

i did some bussiness with a member a few days ago, and using money gram. luckly me hes a guy to trust. he even sent the stuff without having his money.

sucks that some members do this, it gives a bad rep to online trades.
i think there should be a penalization for members like this, or a ban.

Thus the whole reason behind the Itrader points we had for awhile....

I've been fortunate enough not to have any problems dealing with members on here, but I know there are jerks out there.

The post office will tell you if a money order has been cashed or not. And they can refund money, but I've found that some post offices are full of jerks who don't want to be helpful. Sometimes it's a whole post office, sometimes it's just one or two people who don't want to be helpful and just have a $hitty attitude.

I'd PM an admin or Jim Oaks with the users name and see if they can contact the person for you for a start. It's always possible the person is just busy, I've been in that position before, but I usually try very hard to take a minute or two to shoot off a PM and let the person know what's going on.

If you go to the post office on Monday, and they tell you you are SOL, its time to raise a sh*tstorm on here... Make sure EVERYONE knows what he did, depending on the person, it seems to bring them out of the woodwork and then they have to confront you.

www.usps.com states no refunds on MO unless damaged-

Money Orders are not eligible for a refund. However, if a money order is spoiled or damaged, you can request a replacement money order, write your name as the recipient, and then cash the money order. To replace a money order complete the following steps:

1.
Take both of the following to a local Post Office facility:
*
The original United States Postal Service money order.
*
The purchase receipt for the original money order.
2.
Fill out PS Form 6401 (Money Order Inquiry).
3.
The money order will be immediately reissued.

Hope you don't get burned. I only send money via Paypal or something similar. The reason is that they can go back to the seller and even take the money from their bank account if they are proven at fault. I've had hundreds of successful transactions over the years.

X4 on the holidays, but likewise, he should have stayed in contact with you. I'd try to contact him this week, and if no work by friday, contact a mod, admin, or Jim and tell them of the problem, more than likely they can help you out.

i dont buy stuff from guys on here unless they have a shit-ton of posts and a healthy iTrader rating. the more they're on here the less likely they are out to screw someone over. even better if you can meet them in person.

but it is the holidays, it could've been lost or even delivered to the wrong address. i had that happen with my last package that i ordered from another trs'r. i called the P.O. and they didnt do a damn thing. told me someone would be in touch with me in 2 days, NOPE.....nothing. luckily, the person whose house it went to brought it to me.

Money orders can be refunded if say it was a western Union I got one once to pay for my insurence school classes the paper work they handed me to fill out said to wright check or money oder out to such and such company. which I did when i retured to pay my fees they told me the paper work was old and the company don't exist anymore, and they go through a new company now. Just havn't updated the paper work. I went back to gas station were I got moneyorder from and they said no rufunds. So i thought i was out $120 in small print on money order it says to send in recipt and a letter to why you need a refund. Could take three to six weeks. I sent mine in had a check in the mail just under three weeks. I had both recipt and money order which is why it may had been so fast.

I use paypal when buyin online if other person don't have it then we dodn't do buisness. I'd say open a paypal account it's free secure and they refund if anything goes wrong. All major buying sites use it.
