About 3 years ago I started my 1990 2.3 to 88 2.3T swap, some of you even helped me with the wiring which was a complete success with the assistance of seasoned members of this site. I wanted to just tell you all the importance of checking your tires for any abnormalities or defects frequently or to even just check pressures. I lost the majority of my project due to a blow out inside a city tunnel on tires with less than 6k miles on them, and to wear your seat belt always.

Thanks for the reminder. I hope you are OK.
In the pic it looks like the truck has a face and is sticking it's tongue out.

Hey, don't do that.

Hope your not too banged up.......Poor truck!

Too bad you're not closer! (See my Sig line)
You planning on fixing it,parting it,or starting over w/a new base truck??
Glad you were not hurt.

Buy your truck back and get another Ranger to continue your 2.3Turbo project. Just because it got a little face damage doesn't mean it's dead.

Also, good to hear that you're okay from that experience. :icon_thumby:

That musta sucked, glad you're OK. It doesn't look too awful. Is there frame damage aft of the firewall ? Did you run over something to pop the tire?

Which tunnel? I have spent waaay too many hours in the O'Neil whilst commuting.

It'll buff out. Or just break out the WD40 and Duct Tape...

Assuming the frame is bent it shouldn't be too hard to fix. Have a shop straighten the frame slap on a new front clip, maybe replace some suspension parts...

If you were in Mi you'd probably still be driving it, that ranger looks good compared to what's up here lol.

Sadly it probably is more structurally sound than some vehicles up here LOL. :shok:

Same here. I had an F-150 come in for that rotted fuel tank strap recall a while ago and I refused to do it. The truck had a skid plate, which was all that was holding the tank in, and the frame had gaping holes in it near the strap mounting points and the skid plate mounts. I wouldn't even have been able to remove the bolts without ripping bigger holes in the frame.

The bed was so rusted that large portions of the bed liner could be accessed from under the truck, and one of the bed mounting points was gone, so the bed was at an odd angle to the cab.

And it had just passed SAFETY inspection a month or two before.

I took pics of his sticker, pics of his truck, and made a side stop at the State Police barracks on the way home. That kind of stuff is highly not street legal in PA.

Yeah, don't tell him it's unsafe and needs repairs, or pull his inspection sticker. Just go straight to the cops, that will get his truck fixed safely.
