Yeah, don't tell him it's unsafe and needs repairs, or pull his inspection sticker. Just go straight to the cops, that will get his truck fixed safely.

We told him, we showed him. There was no fixing this truck, and he didn't get in trouble. The lick n stick shop that illegally inspected his truck and the guy who issued the sticker are the ones who got in trouble.

State law no longer allows us to ground and condem vehicles in that condition. It did for a while.

Is it permissible to fix the rot ? That is what I've done to the Rat. Further forward. under the fwd cab support. I did hang some threaded rod and added a strap to hold the back of the stupid skid plate. on. They gotta be one of the dumbest things ever put on car. They are the main source of frame rot on a Grand Wagoneer. The tank/ skid plate setups are identical. The tank is formed to fit inside the frame rail. If the inboard side stays up you're golden.
