How do I quiet fuel injectors ticking? I solved my lifter noise problem by giving her an oil change(I replaced with a Motorcraft Filter, I think the FRAM caused my troubles.) But what can I do about my injectors besides replacing them(costly!)? I read on another forum that replacing O-Rings or vapor canister.

Build a cathedral to honor the god that blessed you by giving you
a 2.9 engine that actually runs quiet enough that you can hear
the injectors.

However if you don't want to do that, shut up about it before some
jealous cabal of 2.9 owners that aren't so fortunate club you upside
the head with a wornout camshaft.

LMAO!!!
Well actually, I cheated a little bit with some Rislone oil additive to quiet them down.

what allan is try to say is that they tick by design, not much you can do about it.

perhaps a louder stereo is in order :icon_idea:

Now that's a good idea Wicked!:clapping:
The problem is I am using a great head unit with crappy stock speakers.
Do you know how I would go about getting new speakers, would I install door speakers to replace the 4"Dash speakers? What about the rear?

i got 2 of those 6 1/6 inch "subs" that walmart sells behind my seats. ran the wires from each dash speaker down under the dash and then under the carpet along the tranny hump to the back. they work alright, for a $20 set of speakers.

they were already in boxes with a 6 1/2 and a tweeter on each box.

I'm still running the dash speakers (Pioneers I don't remember the model number)
even though I've swapped on '89-92 doors that take a larger speaker, mounted
in the door. I just haven't had the time to run wires to the door speakers.

As for the back speakers?

On a standard cab I'd mount something else in the factory enclosures.
In a supercab? 5x7's

I highly recommend AC/DC for drowning out annoying engine noises.

Wish you knew the model number Allan!
Well I have another question for you, when using Fel-Pro Rubber valve cover gaskets, do I use some RTV with them or just install them dry?

install dry. those gaskets can be reused and gooping them up with silicone will just make your life more difficult next time you have the valvecovers off.

My damn covers won't budge! How to I pry them off the heads?

trace around the seam then, theres usually a recess in the head to jam a screwdriver in and pry. put tension on it with the screwdriver then wack it some more with your hammer.

OK I will try that tomorrow, it's dark already
