Im working on building a mid length travel ranger using the Auto Fab kit. I already have a 351W and would like to use that. But would that motor just be to heavy for what I want to do? Im thinking maybe it would just be better to use a 5.0 so I wont have to use stiffer springs.

you're front end is going to sag regardless, i can't seem to find a weight for your engine, but the cologne motor, which i would think would be similar in weight, is about 380lbs, where as the 302 weighs around 460lbs, the 351 is about 515,

which leads me to believe if you want the prerunner look, you're changing your springs regardless

Springs are about the cheapest part of a build. Don't let that determine what motor you run.
