I am in the process of rebuild my 1987 4 x 4 ranger. I have installed leveling springs and after looking at the tie rod ends I have decided that it is time for a front end rebuild. I would like to buy a rebuilding kit "ball joints and tie rods". Any other brands other than moog that are not garbage. Moog is pricey. I was looking a movtech. I will be doing bushings as well.

Moog ball joints were about 120.00 a set off ebay a little more from summit. But local were 240.00 a set.

I like moog over most local house parts by far.
Was also cheaper than buying said house parts over counter.

I buy a bunch over the counter but on a bigger job I usually buy from rock auto.

My luck with Moog wasn't so good (3 lower BJs, each went before 10K miles)

I finally went with Raybestos Professional Grade (45K on them now and still going good), though their availability has gotten spotty since their manufacturer was taken over by Federal Mogul a couple years ago :annoyed:
They may still be around under other brand names though (Napa, for example).

What I suggest looking for that I suspect could help better your odds of getting something decent:
Look for joints that have bright shiny (like stainless steel) studs, rather than dingy or unpolished-looking studs, and a urethane (not rubber) boot. If history is any indicator, these should be the same thing as the Raybestos joints I used regardless of the brand they are sold under. They will often be labeled "Premium" or "Professional Grade" (as opposed to "Service Grade" or "Economy", etc.).
