My son and I are trying to make his 85 Ranger dependable. Today we were removing the coil spring tower that had rotted out only to find the frame was rotted out too. I have the new coil mount. Where can I find frame repair sections?

Junkyard or make your own. These are not like Jeeps, that are so popular and rust out so bad, that they make money off of frame repair kits.

Safe T Cap is the big one I know of, but they don't make caps for the front section. I think it's because there are too many bends and curves, ect.

If you are a good welder you should be able to fab some patches and fish plates out of 10ga.

Interesting website. Didn't know they made so many different repair pieces.

Yeah, unfortunately junkyard or fabricating and welding is the only solution for the front. I’ve done a good bit of that and if it ever stops raining long enough, I’ll be doing some more…

Not sure my Miller 141 will do the job but I know some folks with 220v welder.

I used a Lincoln WeldPak 120v welder with .035 flux core wire to repair my green 00 Ranger

0.035 solid wire is what gets used on everything at work. It does everything from metal buckets up to about 1/4 thickness...

Don't worry, the frames are barely thicker than sheetmetal. You do not want much heat or you will burn through.

Frame on my 96 is close enough to 1/8"..

Either way.. well within the capabilities of a mig that size.

Within the capabilities of most 120v welders really. My wire feed Lincoln WeldPak with .035 flux core is rated for 1/4” plate. I will say that it will do it, but it’s not particularly happy about it. 1/8”, which is pretty much what our frames are, is just fine with it.

My PowerMig eats 1/4” plate for breakfast…
