easter sunday was the just the break i needed to get me back in the groove again. i was supposed to fix some little stuff that i had laying around (a leaf blower and a power washer) but instead i got stuck on trucks. i decided that the bumper on the rescue ranger would do more good on my brothers stx than just sitting in the yard on the R.R., so i took it off and mounted it up on his. during my time with his truck i discovered a missing sway bar link bolt and a dilapitated exhaust system.
after spending about an hour or so washing the set of snow tires that i took off of thumper i decided that id rather put them on the rescue ranger so they would have a chance of being driven on instead of sitting in a stack all season, slowly rotting away.
i had to move the dirtbikes out of the garage so i could give it a thourough sweeping, so i figured id whore them out a bit. the honda is a 2001 CR 250 (mine), and the yamaha is a 1974 DT 175 that had been sitting in a field for the last 15 years. my dad spent the winter months in our crawl space (its more like a basement with a low ceiling) going through it and breathing new life into it.
i had monday off work so i decided to do some painting and with the new look that wheels gave the rescue ranger i decided to retire the name "rescue ranger" and i now will call it "retired ranger".
last night terras uncle gave me some AVS head light covers that he had on his 96 ranger before he sold it, so i decided to try them out.... bad idea! i had to work at 8am this morning which meant i had to leave her house at 6:30 so it was still dark out. the covers look cool with the lights on if your looking at them, but trying to drive with them on doesnt let enough light through and my fog lights were just barely bright enough to guide the way home. since my dads ranger is just holding the grass down i decided to throw them on there and see how long it takes him to notice them.
