ForOffRoadDriving's 94 Ranger Build

the other day i decided to brave the weather (it was 40*, but thats still cold for me) and wash my truck and give it some tire shine and make it look nice for the weekend so heres the pics. i wanted to find a nice place to take some poser pics and when i finally did i forgot my camera, so these will have to do. i took these right before i went disc golfing and of course i put the camera away afterwards. once i got to the course i found a sweet rock to drive up but i had no camera!

Thumper's lookin' real good these days!

thanks andres, im starting to get some rust on the rear corners of my cab, where i already tried to stop it during the resto, so im either going to have to replace the panel altogether or just strip the herculiner off (wish me luck with that one) and try some more SEM rust mort on it.

mp3deviatnt721, i want to see a pic of your truck for comparison! i always find myself checking out other rangers when im driving and i have never seen one the same color as mine.

Why are the aggressive tires on the front?

I'll get one tomorrow at school. Just for you. :D But be warned, my truck is completely stock. :icon_rofl:

plum crazy, ive got the agressive tires on the front because i dont want to start wearing the new tires edges off yet. not that i think my front end will do that excessively since everything is mostly stock and my steering linkage is still inline with my axle beams, but i want to wear them as a set and im thinking the fronts will get the fastest wear having to rotate and turn? anyways, i took some pics last night after disc golf, some of them turned out good but i had to erase about 15 of them due to the fact that it was a little drunk out.

haha, im glad you guys like my drunken mall crawling! (actually the last ones were on the dock at the boat launch since they wont put that in until april 1st). The rear end flexes pretty nicely, but even with the extended shocks that i have on the front (same length as the stock ones when collapsed, but about 3" longer when extended) i still cant get much axle drop out of it.

It does look a little drunk.

easter sunday was the just the break i needed to get me back in the groove again. i was supposed to fix some little stuff that i had laying around (a leaf blower and a power washer) but instead i got stuck on trucks. i decided that the bumper on the rescue ranger would do more good on my brothers stx than just sitting in the yard on the R.R., so i took it off and mounted it up on his. during my time with his truck i discovered a missing sway bar link bolt and a dilapitated exhaust system.

after spending about an hour or so washing the set of snow tires that i took off of thumper i decided that id rather put them on the rescue ranger so they would have a chance of being driven on instead of sitting in a stack all season, slowly rotting away.

i had to move the dirtbikes out of the garage so i could give it a thourough sweeping, so i figured id whore them out a bit. the honda is a 2001 CR 250 (mine), and the yamaha is a 1974 DT 175 that had been sitting in a field for the last 15 years. my dad spent the winter months in our crawl space (its more like a basement with a low ceiling) going through it and breathing new life into it.

i had monday off work so i decided to do some painting and with the new look that wheels gave the rescue ranger i decided to retire the name "rescue ranger" and i now will call it "retired ranger".

last night terras uncle gave me some AVS head light covers that he had on his 96 ranger before he sold it, so i decided to try them out.... bad idea! i had to work at 8am this morning which meant i had to leave her house at 6:30 so it was still dark out. the covers look cool with the lights on if your looking at them, but trying to drive with them on doesnt let enough light through and my fog lights were just barely bright enough to guide the way home. since my dads ranger is just holding the grass down i decided to throw them on there and see how long it takes him to notice them.
