Can't get home owners insurance if you park your EV in your own garage. Seems the upper echelon at Ford will have shave their beard.

The idea of rhe EV sounds great in theory. In reality, it's not a good fit for a good number of people, regardless of how hard the concept gets pushed.

The market decides what works and sticks around and what doesn't and goes into a nitch or fades away.

Then you run into the insurance issues like mentioned above and the reliability problems a good number of people are running into. Never mind the charging times and the need to plan around the limited infrastructure.

maybe normal truck prices will drop since they will have another gas truck plant and we will stop hearing the bs about supply issues

yeah...... the stuff we have in development around detroit and cummins....comared to the big three.....err 2 is really making those idiots at the top.....look useless.

They just had a whole load of lithium batteries catch fire in a semi trailer.

You know what they say about history...

"History repeats itself" and "those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.”

Well some.of the earliest automobiles were EVs. Although many tout their failure as conspiracy by "big oil", those early EVs failed for much the same reason that they suffer now. The same short comings that they had then are they reason they aren't more popular now. The places and reasons they are adopted/desired, are the same places that they were then. Until those short comings are addressed/rectified they will not be accepted and used by the masses.

That said, it's not bad that EVs make a resurgence every few decades. Eventually the technology will catch up with the idea and they will be great.
