okay so all my wheelin buddies are toyota guys, and they say ford is piece of shit, i say no, and they say then is that why they always break down, so i told htem that u dont see many broken rangers, mainly f- series, and i think its bcuz these amatuers, think bigger is better, and go romping through mud holes, and what not and there parts are bigger leaving more room for a broken part, my ranger has gone through hell and back and still survives. but u never see a ranger sittin on the side of the road dead. ne one agree with me

I disagree... Well sorta.

I saw a blue 1989-1992 model go past me on a flatbed today while I was waiting on a redlight.

Technically it was not dead on the side of the road, it was just hitching a free ride...right?

Well I thought it was funny when I passed a yota in the ditch during a snow storm.....funnier even, I had to go around the wrecker, into the ditch that the yota was stuck in.

Yota's aren't to bad of trucks, but I've pulled many out.

at least I don't have to worry about my frame snapping in half.

yah thats soo true. i have an 81 in my back yard just cab and frame.. been there for 2 years only.. just afetr christmas it finally broke in half.. all by itself just sitting there.

Everything breaks down. Do your wheelin' buddies think that the technicians that work at Toyota dealers do nothing but oil changes all day? Do the parts departments at Toyota dealers only stock oil filters because they don't need replacement parts since they never break down?

Sounds like you need some new wheeling buddies that are Wheeling Enthusiasts instead of ignorant, uneducated, brand bashing morons.

I'm glad the Toyota buddies I wheel with are in for The Fun & Excitement of Wheeling.

My buddies that own the Yotas below are top notch people. I'm glad they're in it for the right purpose.

I don't really see many vehicles broken down on the highway these days. Some, but most are old clunkers. No newer vehicles really. Part of that may be because cellphones get the wrecker there more quickly. But on the whole, all vehicles are a hell of a lot better than they used to be. The last time I broke down happens to have been in a Toyota (Geo Prizm, actually) and that was in 1998 or 1999 when it pitched a timing belt (non-interference motor). My Ford had a mystery computer screw us which eventually turned out to be a bad ground--it dogged me for a couple of years before I finally figured it out. It would run really bad and have me on the side of the road beating and kicking it, but it always started going again. My old Chevy pickup had a starter solenoid that would kill all electrical power occasionally. Being a diesel I would hot-wire the fuel solenoid and drive home without power until I fixed it. It also dumped a hydra-boost and a waterpump on two other occasions but I made it home. That's a 20 year-old truck.

I can't say anything is bad, but I can research and tell you what surveyed people say is the best. But I won't.

i saw a broken down ranger the other day...it was at the other end of the tow rope hooked to the back of my escort :icon_rofl:

well thats a ford towing a ford so it cancels it out... and it wasnt ford's fault you got seawater instead of gas either!

I have been on the side of the road with a blown transmission. :(

Personally I am a Ford Man. But to be honest if I had the money and was going to buy a brand new truck the Nissan would be at the top of my list. I think they are great built trucks.
