I once "fixed" an s10 by installing Toyota drive train. Guess what, It is a total rotted into the ground piece of blown up poo. I built the Mutant pony first and it is still running. I do like the 22r motors but, don't like the cost of maintainance. I'll stick with Ford, thank you.

As far as the Ford paint peel goes, I could post a new pic every day for a year of chevies with the same problem. I've seen a few Dodges too.

Own a Ford truck with a triton motor or peeling paint.
Better yet try dealing with Ford Mo Co.
My ranger however its been great other that the usual stuff.Bad bad slave cylinder,weak 5 speed manual,oh peeling paint,oil leaks.But I haven't had any trouble with the cylinder heads....Yet......I love my ranger I really do.Why else would I keep it for almost 18 yrs.

We can't blame paint problems on the vehicle manufacturer, we blame it on BASF, PPG, DuPont, or whoever else happened to supply them with their paint at the time.

I had to PULL a Ridgeline out of the ditch today AND I did it with my little old 1990 Bronco II. The young guy driving HIS DAD's new Ridgeline ran off the run into the ditch & didn't have a clue how to get out & was scared to death to tell his Dad what he had done. (He said he was waving at 3 girls he knew walking down the road wearing short shorts & just ran off into a ditch that was about 2 1/2 ft deep. NO wonder he ran into the ditch.) Those short shorts will do it to a lot of people. That was until my old trusty Bronco II happen to come by & showed him how it was done using 4 wheel drive & a tow strap. Don't ever tell me what a FORD CAN'T do. lol

I'm not making any statement about fords. Just presenting you guys with something to think about.

Also, I think we all kind of understand that rangers have greater value for the price, and have not yet tried to be something other than a tough little compact truck.

I consider myself a Mopar/Ford guy and not a big fan of GM. Every brand has their strong and weak points. Ford does a lot of stuff that pisses me off, they change the dumbest shit every year that most people wouldn't even notice, I could list DOZENS of stupid ass changes for things that didn't need to be changed like the ball stud size for the windshield wiper linkage, 83-87 t-case use SAE bolts 88-up use metric, just all this little shit you'd never even know about until it's too late and you're swapping stuff and have to modify things. I have 2 friends with toyotas, don't see anything special about them, they're flimsy and cheap feeling despite the raping prices they go for. Have a friend with a cherokee that's a pile, don't see what's so special about it either. Oh and I towed home a dead sploder today
