ford b!tchslaps gm

Ford has em beat way before Garbage Machines had another company make a higher output motor, cause GM can't build a trans to handle it, and they can't build a frame to handle the power it can produce, which is why once again Ford rules, Even though chevy had higher hp and tq numbers, Ford has a higher payload and more towing capacity, and all with a lower output engine...:icon_thumby:

question: if that is true why do the f-550's have a cummins engine, with an allison trans? it looks like they needed a non-ford engine to produce hp that they couldn't build a trans to handle.

the old ford/ cummins co-op straight 6's were the shiznit man in the old ford 8000 and such, have you seen the international terra (max I think) to compete with all the med duty pickups?

well the 6.0 isnt that bad, but is not the abusable workhorse the 7.3 is. If you could have someone make some metal high pressure tube for it the 6.0 would be great. International blames ford for pushing too hard for the emissions motor and ford blames international for taking too long

its weird that you said that. i was actually gonna say that the 6.0 isnt really a bad motor but didnt feel like typing it lmao. the 6.0 has some nice ass technology on it including some very fancy split shot injectors, but it surely did have majors issues with the egr and headgaskets. but with an egr delete and arp head studs they can be NASTY motors. i think hypermax has a chip that guarantees 485hp with just an exhaust and intake. plus they sound better on the throttle (almost like a detroit 2 stroke diesel) than the 7.3 in my opinion, and i'm a BIG 7.3 guy.

are you mad because you have a 350 in your b2?

no i'm not mad, i'm loyal to neither. (brand loyalty is retarded but since i am in a ford forum that falls on decidedly deaf ears) ford beat gm fair and square. i was just disappointed that someone thinks this is a "b*tchslap" it is an overstatement to say the least.

to repeat myself, i am not a ford or chevy or dodge, or honda loyal. i am loyal to results and more importantly i am loyal to hp and actually using it in the real world. and in the case of my bII i was able to get 450 crank hp for half of what it would have cost me to get 350 hp out of a ford. if the tables were turned and the ford engine was cheaper i'd have gone with it in a heartbeat. i'm not a millionaire so striving for hp out of a ford engine just didn't make sense to me

but on a different note a few years ago i saw 2 guys making out in the park, and that was the gayest thing i had ever seen until it became fashionable to put smoke-stacks coming out of the bed of pickup truck..........ford, dodge, or chevy

I just would never own a vehicle that when you replace the batteries if you dont use a 9 volt back up you may have to reprogram the hvac computer..... stupids (gm)

alright i can understand that haha.

but i will say the f650 and 750 (not 550) allison is a heavy duty model not available in any gm pickups, and the cummins isb option is the cheapo one. everyone knows you want a CAT motor in those trucks, the cummins just doesnt make enough power for something that size. we have a bunch of em at work and trust me its worth the extra $$$ for the cat option.

Since 99 the Super Duty came with the 7.3L in all 250, 350, 450, and 550 platforms, all the way through 2007 to my knowledge. Past that I'm not aware of the motor they used, and frankly didn't keep up with the information. But to say Ford is lacking in the power department is a Huge misconception...what the 99 350 can tow is more than double what my 92 F350 can tow, rated anyways

the 7.3 is a DT 444 E in international terms and was put into everything but a actual class 8 truck. If you use an international nav pack in a ford there is not a transmission that will fit that can handle it, it will not rev above 3000 rpm but will make more tq than any chip you can get

i hope youre trying to say that you had performance parts sitting around for a chevy and not a ford, or something like that because otherwise thats COMPLETE BS, and you obviously dont know enough about ford motors to speak.

i did. gm perf parts heads off of a crate motor which made all the difference

oh alright hahaha i thought you were trying to say that ford motors will never make the same power for the same money as a chev. in your case, i totally understand and i have no problem at all with your swap.

now hold up. that is undeniably true. (please lets not hijack this thread if you need proof pm me for a very detailed explanation of this)

I think it's only a b****slap because just after GM released their slightly higher numbers Ford said "ORLY?" and one-upped them post haste.

It's all pretty much a wash with that much power anyways.
