Thats my point why mod a workhorse motor? you want to mod something use a 6.0 or 6.4. Leave the 7.3 to do its job, thats what it was made for.

Now you wanna talk about legendary I am in the process of trying to talk a fella into a price i'm comfy with for a mack super liner with the 998 cube v8 greasel

You are making me drool so bad!

On a side note about Macks: Do you know why the bulldog faces forward?

as for the 6.7 reliability we have a f450 at work and its only got 40,000miles and its down because a piston has a hole in it due to no oil and a turbo pushing 30+lbs of boost. damn that is a powerful engine though.

Exactly......... work horse. That's it.

It's a turd to race, I'm not talking making it smoke or get up to 400hp, I mean freaking mod.......... my dd vp 24v was over 575hp, and it was nothing compared to my friend Jordan James 1000hp common rail dd (he's also a local sled-pulling legend, lol). Another local guy was spraying nos with twins through a 7.3.......... guess what, he now has a twinned 5.9 p-pump 12 valve in his F-250. Because it was costing him so much money.........

466 4TW gotta love em!!!!!
Navistar had a great engine.......... Ford killed their reputation on purpose by forcing navistart o stop modifying and improving (which is what they are best at) their current platform and build all new to Ford spec.

Frank

And since everybody buys their 3/4 and 1 ton trucks to race this is a very valid point. :icon_rofl:

By far and away most people buy these things to move things, not screw around at a racing or pulling track, so guess who they are going to cater to? :icon_confused: They don't give a crap about what you guys are doing and how it would hold together at that point, the warrentee would be voided and anybody (Dodge/Cummins included) would wipe their hands of it/laugh in your face if you drug your crap back to them saying it broke and it is their fault.

If Navistar didn't approve of Ford's changes they shouldn't have accepted them, and if so I highly doubt they would have used them in their own trucks... and they still use them today.
