anyone hear bout the new 6.7 powerstroke and how it was originally rated at 390hp/735tq, then the duracrap tries to one up them by doing 397/765, then within a week after that gm ad airs ford offers an entirely FREE re-flash to all 6.7 owners that bumps power up to 400/800!!!! am i the only one that thinks thats frickin AWESOME hahahaha?!

the title of this thread is misleading...........a "b*tchslap" usually is beating your competition by more than 1% horsepower. seriously that's the "ace-in-the-hole, b*tchslap" you were talking about? 1%?

*edit i actually calculated it, and its not even 1%.....its 0.8%hp and the torque beats them by 4.5%.........i bet gm's chief designer has already tendered his resignation :icon_rofl:

torque is what really matters here, and a FREE 65lb/ft jump is pretty considerable. PLUS, that means ford is officially the only automaker to hit the 800tq number for a STOCK DIESEL PICKUP. thats nuts!

you should also consider the way ford handled the situation. within a week of gm announcing their numbers, ford had em beat, again.

exactly. ford has an all-new engine design that's capable of even more, while the duracrap is old and basically maxed out now.

see my edit to my first post

and the new design only beats them by .8%/4.5% ? sad. my money says when gm truly redesigns the max it will out do the numbers of the current max by far more than that. ford may have spent the time and r&d to make a new design but only have .8%/4.5% to show for it

ok "consider" this: did ford think to themselve "oh sh*t! did you see gm's numbers? we need to do something" and miraculously came up with it inside of a week? it was a planned stunt

no its not maxed out, and the new ford engine will still have to prove itself. It will be judged against the 7.3 ford durability...

Ford has em beat way before Garbage Machines had another company make a higher output motor, cause GM can't build a trans to handle it, and they can't build a frame to handle the power it can produce, which is why once again Ford rules, Even though chevy had higher hp and tq numbers, Ford has a higher payload and more towing capacity, and all with a lower output engine...:icon_thumby:

well yes and no. 765tq for the current duracrap is close to all its gonna be able to do while remaining somewhat reliable IN STOCK FORM (thats the key part to it all).

and i absolutely agree the new 6.7 needs to be proven. and i'm fairly confident. ford wasnt screwing around on this one, they dont want another 6.0 situation on their hands.

well the 6.0 isnt that bad, but is not the abusable workhorse the 7.3 is. If you could have someone make some metal high pressure tube for it the 6.0 would be great. International blames ford for pushing too hard for the emissions motor and ford blames international for taking too long

"garbage machines" LMAO that's great ive never heard that one before i'll definitely be using it in the future hahaha

and you're totally right. gm's chassis and trans is MILES behind ford's (and has been for years).
