For all you people who hate tailgaters!

I just drive around with my ball hitch on sticking out about a foot, and no it doesnt block my back plate. I pray for the day some uninsured "minority" slams into the back of it so i can engage 4x4 and pull his front end all to shit. Nothing says backoff like a hitch through the condenser, radiator, grill, and maybe trans cooler. Now if it holds for some reason, hes going for a ride. If it werent for idiots driving so close there would be alot less wrecks. Alot!

That is a great way to get a bent frame. Applying the whole wreck to your frame at an angle with leverage, what could be a better idea than that? :icon_confused:

How do so many people have such tailgater issues? Why don't you:

1)Stop being passive-aggressive idiots
2) Not drive slow enough to impede traffic badly to cause an insane amount of tailgaters
3) Perhaps just taking care of it in the best way by LETTING THEM GET BY YOU! You are not the ultimate decider of who's right and wrong on the public roadway!

Shocking, I know.

Here is your sign. It says 'I failed due to my own ignorance and stupidity. Next time I will just not say anything because I am a unintelligent moron.' JK :icon_cheers:

I had a guy learn not to tailgate me today....
For the past 3 months we have this group of teens in the town next to us, that love to honk their horns coming thru our town at all hours. They all drive "pimped" out VW Golfs that are slammed to the ground......Well this morning, it was raining pretty good as I was leaving for work. The speed limit on the road leading to the autobahn entrance is about 40 kmh. Well, one of the teens decided that he wanted to tailgate me all the way to the autobahn....Well, he couldn't pass me because of traffic, and found out the hard way that my truck with my 31s and lifted, will at 120 kmh make a very nice rooster tail....he backed off pretty quickly after he really couldn't see anything. but as soon as he had a chance, he passed me and tried to do the same thing to me....unfortunately for him though, his roof line come up to the hood of my truck, so all he got was my HiDs and all 4 fogs coming thru his back window.

(HiDs are legal here, and in bad weather it is required to turn on your fog lights if equipped)

I always have tailgater problems.... But to answer you....

1) I really don't give a shat most of the time when one is back there. Pretty much everything I drive has a good bit of steel between them and me and I've seen what these trucks I drive can do to someone that hits them from behind.

2) I will go up to 5 mph over the posted speed. I used to tear around the countryside, but I learned my lesson. I go at the speed comfortable to me up to 5 mph over the posted limit. If you're behind me and don't like it, sucks to be you, you should have left sooner.

3) For the most part I've given up on pulling over to let them by. In the past couple years when I've tried to pull over and let them by I've had one of two things happen 95% of the time....
a) They pull over behind me and are not driving a police vehicle. I usually don't wait around long enough to find out if they're gonna come up to the vehicle an start something or not, that makes me nervous.
b) They go insanely mad and pass you very slowly making rude jestures and yelling at the top of their lungs. I got tired of waiting to see one of these road-rage jack@$$es pull a gun an start shooting.

a few years back, I had a 1993 F-250 Diesel on 35" BFG Mud-Terrains. I was driving down a 2 lane highway, the speed limit was 55. I was doing 60(its a really curvy highway, at times they have a 25mph warning sign around some curves). When a late 90's neon (with hood scoops, ground effects, and enough green and red neon lights on it to promote christmas in July) came flying up behind me and tailgated so close that I couldn't see his windshield at all. Everytime he tried to pass (on dotted or double yellow) there were cars coming and he couldn't make it, I would even slow down a little for him. Well he was so close to me that I guess he never saw the full 55 gallon trash bag in the middle of the road. I straddled it... he got a new front bumper along with some chicken wings or something similar on his windshield.

I thought it was a happy ending, and I still laugh about it to this day

i always drive 10mph or over the speed limit, if someone is so close to me at 60mph on a 45mph road that i can not see there bumper, im not the one causing a problem.
for some reason tailgaters will never pass you, you could have 2 mile of straight passing zone and they wont go around, letting them by me involves me coming to a complete stop in the middle of the road until they get there heads out of there ass and go around.

Then you hear a loud pop. That is their heads coming out of their asses.

I really love to just let off the gas and coast down about 20mph and just creep. Whats real nice is at night out in the country your driving and no ones around and out of no where some dickhead is riding your ass. All i can think is i wish i had a box full of roofing nails hooked to a switch under my truck.

If I run over some roofing nails with my new tires, then I'll know who's teeth to kick in.....

So you ride peoples ass huh?
No, matter of fact I don't. But I do know just how well roofing nails scatter on a road and unless you go back with a magnet, someone other than the tailgater is gonna get a flat.

The cheapest set of tires I have on any of my vehicles is around $130 per tire. I don't really like replacing them for the fun of it. My one work truck has 4 tires, the other has 6, and my work trailer has four.... that cost about $180 each when you can find them. Nails on a road are no joke.
