(to the OP) Besides, these sorts of questions require heavily biased answers, so the best idea is to try different mufflers until your find the setup that YOU like, not what other people think sounds good.

Btw, super 44 on my 03 sohc was real deep, no rasp at all

i absolutely agree with you but i had the exact opposite experience with the super 44. just my $.02 i prefer sound quality over a loud muffler, thats just the experience i happened to have.

it is entirely possible to make your 4.0 sound good. ill agree though, glasspacks or straight pipes sound terrible on these trucks. heres a few examples...
