I'm currently working on an RV and when I search for info on the egr system I get sites selling stuff. I want to know specifics of the vehicle system such as diagrams and how it works. Does anyone have a source that I won't have to pay a subscription to?

So far the on-line manual is one of the best for that sort of thing. I've ran into the same thing when trying to research just about anything. I'm still looking for ways to dodge the meta tags that the search engines use to bring up potential sites...maybe there is a back door approach for research though...which is funny because the internet was developed for research sharing...

Someone suggested a while ago to take part time courses at a University so you could access their data bases...which may be linked to other databases of other institutions...

But that can be an expensive way to go if you are not making a ton of money for doing what you do...

RVs use truck or custom chassis

If you google the year, maker and model then add drivetrain

Like 1998 Fleetwood Bounder drivetrain

It had Ford 460 engine, and would use the heaviest duty version, like 1998 F350 or 1998 F450 truck engine

I know a lot about RV's if you have questions. I actually work for an RV dealership so I have a lot of access to manufactures like Thor, Forest river, KZ, Keystone, Heartland, Roadtrek, Leisure, LCI. Just ask and I can probably get the info. Keep in mind that 10 years in the RV world is like ancient history so parts become NLA. Then again, if it is a motorhome then those companies wont know anything about the motor other than the size or make. RV's get the chassis and drivetrain then build on top of that with their parts. So chassis parts are ford, chevy or dodge. The VIN can give you a lot of info on the motor as well. If you got a question about RV's or campers just ask and I probably have the answer or know someone who does.
