Well. I have had 3 of them and going on a fourth as soon as I can locate a 4.0 5-Speed 4X4 in or near Cali. I can not explain why. But there must always be a Ranger in my inventory. I haven't been without one in 20 years.

First: was an 83 2WD with the 2.3 and 4-Speed. NO AC! (Did I mention it will be 109 degrees here tomorrow!!!) :) Handed down to me by my dad.
Second: was an 87 2WD 2.3 with 5-Speed and I went as far as porting the ex manifold and a .420 Roller cam :) HAD AC! :yahoo:
Third: Is an 89 2WD 2.3 5-Speed and ported/forged everything (Abandoned turbo project motor) Still have it.

My wife and I have gotten into traveling/exploring the deserts around here looking for abandoned ghost towns and railroads and have of course decided to get another Ranger. So I am ready for my first Ranger V6! I am looking for a SOHC 4.0 5-Speed 4X4.

My other cars are a 72 Grabber Maverick with 5-Speed, 302, ported, cammed, with 9" rear 3.70's
A 75 Pinto with 2.3 turbo. 5-Speed 8" and 3.55's.
Oh! And my wife has a Corolla :icon_rofl:

Any way. I'm new here and like the site!

Thanks.

wow.....quite a collection.

i also love pintos and mavericks and would flog a turbo pinto like a stubborn mule any chance i could.

welcome and enjoy your wanderings.....a good explorer or ext cab with a capper will be well suited for your adventures.

That Maverick is awesome. I LOVE that hood on them. I've always wanted one. Maybe someday when I have more room.....

If you want some spare body panels for that maverick I'm located in Palmdale and have a gutted Mavrick, all the glass is good has a good dash and the panels ( other then the hood) are very straight. Free of you come haul it away.

Also welcome to trs!

What panels do you have? My Maverick was hit in the rear before I bought it and I had it straightened. But the rear quarters are a bit rippled. I was debating replacement vs body shop and bondo.

@bobbywalter. Thanks! The Pinto is still in the tuning stage. It should be quite a hand full at 20 PSI. It should make 270-300 HP at the wheels. My fondest wish is to race them against each-other. I have the feeling the Maverick will get beat pretty bad :) That is until the Maverick gets it's 430 (Crank) HP 331 stroker and the AFR's I have in the shop. Come to think of it. It's pretty sad that the racing scene around here is so dead I have to invent a rivalry between my own 2 cars :icon_confused:

And I have already learned a lot about Rangers from this site. I have been coming here for a long time admiring how extensive it is. With my exception of the fact that I cannot live without a Ranger. I decided to join the club :)

Also discovering it's a little harder to find SOHC 4.0 4X4 Rangers with 5-speeds than I thought it would be. Craigslist has been helping though. I have a line on a few in Cali.

I have a full Mavrick body Bumper to bumper. I'll try to take a few pictures of it and post them up.
