Looks super clean, I have a ranger with the 4d55 and a dodge d50 with a 4d55. Both of which the bodies are not good so I have been contemplating pulling the one out of the ranger and putting it in my bronco II and then pulling the d50 motor to keep as a spare..

whats the 4d55 out of?

Well its a mistubishi diesel.... but they came factory in the 85-87 rangers. Alot of things actually use these engines, like the mighty max and dodge D50.... Some pajeros and other mitsu stuff uses them too, although alot of them have the 4d56 which is a stoked version(2.5 instead of 2.3) of the 4d55 but rollerized and stroked. Common upgrade for the 4d55 is to swap a 4d56 head which i plan on doing soon as it flows better than the 4d55 head.

It may "look" clean from the pictures, but im only showcasing the good lol. Floor pans are not very good, pass side box around the wheel well is shot, frame is starting to rust where the struts/shocks are bolted up on both sides, bottom of the doors are shot.... other than that, its pretty good and super reliable and great on fuel! Rockers and cab corners are all in good shape though.

A 4d55 bronco would be sweet! Do it!

I think it will take a little while for them to come out of the woodwork.

summer, "trail recovery mode"....

usually i run a military type tire on it. i dont have any current pics of it around.....

it runs on a frightening array of fuel. old diesels......easy to feed oils.:D

these are nice, i got this to add to my new system, it has the good long stroke primer pump and 2 mic filter. they make priming the system a breeze. worth the time to incorporate.

nice build what engine is in that beast?? What exactly does the cat primer pump help with/do?? :S Somewhat new to diesel as this is my first.

currently it has a 6.5.

the cat setup makes priming the fuel system cake. the super high efficiency filtration will be needed with one of my secondary fuel systems.

i use alternate fuels regularly and use several different fuel vessels/tanks.

I just picked up a 83 with the 2.2 Perkins. Pulled the head and its off to the machine shop for everything but the kitchen sink. I'll post a picture once I figure out how to do so.

I cannot post pics because I already have them posted in my thread "My new 1983 Ranger diesel". You can check them out there.
