Finally got a Ranger again!!

2001 XLT 4.0L 4x4 off-road
I just picked up a ranger for dirt cheap the engine sounds great but it has a bad tranny. I sold my last one and was regretting it the moment I sold it so now I'm happy to have one again. However I have to put a new transmission in and i need advice on how to do that. I'll be putting a different thread under the transmission section to ask for help.

Did someone tint the exterior? Painted black with the green still showing thru? Either way, it looks good.

Nice looking truck... that color does seem to flip flop a bit.

The 2001 4.0L SOHC falls into the time frame that Ford had some issues with timing chain tensioners and guides. If you are unsure if it has been updated with new timing chain tensioners... I would certainly change them. An once of prevention is worth about a hundred pounds of cure in this case.
