Fants truck

Bout 1/2 clearance between pully and fan motor. Itl work for know. Trucks at exhaust shop today. And goin to mechanic afterwards for timing adjustment and carb tuning.

That's about the clearance I have and I have no issues.

Sweet. Took forever to find the dang radiator and fan. I installed fan in stock fan shroud. And had to cut my lower radiator support down to where it was flat metal. And knotch top support. Then cut hole to remove cap. But now a replacement radiator is 120 bucks compared to 400 for duff radiator. So bout 3 hrs work cutting will save me alot in long run. I still wanta build better bottom support but i cut knotches used stock rubber bushings on pins and made a bracket that screwed to bottom of radiator support to hold bottom of radiator tight to support for now

And i slid my motor back til motor mounts was as far as theyd go in my knotch in crossmember. And i just knotched tranny crossmember as well. That give me my 1/2 in clearance. Shifters had plenty of play for 1/2 in movement.

So you going to write it up to turn on and off on it's own or you going to do it with a switch in your cab?

For now its on a switch. I want to wire it up to be auto. But have a switch frm auto to high to off. Whats a good thermostatic sensor for low and high?

You will need two to run high and.low but you don't want the high and the low to run at the same time either or it will burn.up the fan motor. I have a 195 on and 185 off sensor and a 192 tstat. I only run the.low setting and haven't had an over heating problem. Painless wiring have setups that make your life easy. I got my thermostatic sensor from them and the wiring harness came from them (came with my fan rad combo when I bought them).

Right now i just have it wired for the low. My altenator aint but 45 amps. So high mode will suck my battery. Aint really got to test it yet but hopefully itl be outa shop after new years.i took three different diagrams i found online and made my own setup that would best fit me. Lng as i can get relays. And my friend is gonna help me install it on my truck.

Thanks man. The relay ur running aint gonna work on taurus fan though. Low setting it drwas 30 amps. High it draws alot more according to everywhere i read. Il go through relays like crazy with a 30 amp. Need a 45 minimum and 75 for high. But i like the wiring harness for thermosat control.

I'm running the painless wiring but not the relay. For that I have a Ford relay but I do have the circuit breaker and I think it's 30amp but I haven't really taken a good look. I do have a 30 amp fuse that has yet to blow, use to have a 20amp when I got it and it blew one day but good thing I was doing a lot of highway driving (ranger meet) so she kept cool.

As far as the thermo switch, I want to relocate it to a better appt where the coolant is circulating after the rad. Putting something that turns on at 195 after a 192 Tatar is a good idea but in theory won't ever turn off at 185 until the coolant cools down that is sitting on it due to its in a one way flow (top rad hose). My fan does run a bit more then it needs to because of that setup but putting the temp sensor to the bottom house after the rad should be the ideal place. But also switching to a 185 tstat should in theory fix it.

Good to knw. Im running stock 195 tstat so il have to either buy diff tstat or go with adjustable t control module

Well motor died and only 2.5 miles on it
