All,
I would appreciate some info from someone with access to a wiring diagram for a 2001 (or similar) Ranger XLT, 4x4, 4.0 with the factory towing connector.

Problem: Right turn signal doesn't work on trailer connector, however the signal does work on the truck. In fact all lights work properly on the truck. The left signal and tail lights are ok on the trailer connector. Note, I used a voltmeter and one of those LED-equipped dust plugs and not a trailer for troubleshooting.

I have determined that the green wire from the trailer connector has continuity up to a body plug located just under the seat area inside the truck. From there the wiring disappears into the dash and I have no hope of tracking that mess without knowing where to look. There are no shorts on any trailer connector wire and all fuses are ok and the wiring harness looks ok under the truck body.

I suspect the green wire for the trailer right signal is connected to the multi-function switch, but don't know for sure.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Some trucks have a seperate fuse for each of the trailer functions, I am not sure if Rangers do or not. You might check your manual for sure.

+1 my old boss had a 95 f150 and that happened to it. checked under the hood and found a blown fuse

missing fuse

Problem was a missing fuse. Apparently the previous owner had removed it and used it somewhere else. The manual does show separate right and left fuses, but they are reversed on the truck! (left fuse - right signal, right fuse - left signal -- whatever, as long as it works)

Thanks for the help
