I been told that a column mount pod for a 97-01 F150 will work on a 95+ Ranger/Explorer column. My issue is finding one for a manual trans. When I look for them online I see the picture of the pod for a manual trans with no cut out for the shifter, but the description says it fits an auto.

The Autometer number for the 97-01 F150 Auto is 15004, but I cant find the number for a manual.

Has anyone ever used an F150 pod on a Ranger with a manual?

Has anyone ever tried using a 94-04 Mustang column pod? It looks damn close in the pics, but I dont want to spend 30 bucks and find out it doesnt fit.

AFAIK no one makes one for the manual F-series.

I just tried matching up a genII Explorer top half to a Mustang lower......No good. You may be able to cut and fit it, but its not a direct swap, they a quite a bit different. You may also be able to swap the whole Mustang cover onto a RBV column, I didnt try that but they look pretty similar. (Tried it on my 94 Cobra, I assume all Mustang columns 94-04 are the same.)

Would you happen to have an extra mustang lower half that you could sell?lol

I dont. Someone on here must have one.

Problem Solved.

I tried fiberglass for the first time ever. It turns out it that it is childs play.lol

For my first time I think it looks good.

I started by making pod shaped "ears" out of green foam for floral stuff.( I looked a bit out of place at the craft store.lol)

I then got an extra column cover at the JY and coated it in painters tape so the resin wouldn''t stick. I also taped on the pods where I wanted them.

The fiberglass laying process goes really quick and sets up in minutes.

I trimmed the edges up with a dremel and sanded off the high spots, then I covered it in a thin layer of bondo and sanded it smooth. It is snug fit over the stock column now.

I figured that I would use "wrinkle" paint to match the texture of the interior, but it came out really wrinkled.lol

That looks pretty good. If you need anymore gauges, here's the next place to put them.

I ran across your pod, and I thought about it, but I really like having those center vents.lol But if I ever go forced induction I will need to put a boost gauge somewhere

I keep thinking about rerouting them to overhead vents, like they use in rear HVAC systems on vans. (mainly because I have a fullsize ford van to pillage parts from.)
