My credo
I'm not afraid of dying, not living terrifies me!
I have a line on an Explorer rear if it works out I could get everything springs and etc cheap. I've always heard the desert guys talk about how spring under reduces axle wrap.

My question is, Why not leave the whole assy spring under? I'm going to Explorer leaves anyway to level out after rear tire carrier. I'm running General 33X10.50R15 on stock rims and could use a couple of inches extra elevation.

Any comments and or concerns?

Leaving the axle SUA will result in losing 5½-6" of suspension height. Obviously that isn't what you're after is it?

No, not looking to go down any. I guess my idea of combining laziness and upgrades just ain't gonna work. :icon_rofl:

My deal on entire rear assy fell through anyway. I guess I'll head off to the yard tomorrow to find some springs. Thanks for the reply!

To reduce axle wrap, you could try adding or building a traction bar. I have fabricated a clone of the "Sams Offroad Bar" and have used it for many years.

Also, building a hybrid spring pack to get the required lift helps with axle wrap compared to using lift blocks.

I use a combination of 6" lift Skyjacker rear springs and a few leaves from a 5.5" lift 63" Chevy procomp pack.
