I am thinking about putting explorer leaf springs on my ranger. I have a 2.9 two wheel drive extended cab. I have looked at doing this for a while.I have seen people mix the ranger and explorer leafs into one pack. Does anybody have a breakdown on soft verses rigid. I would like to see more flex, remove the saggy rear and be able to put some fifteen inch wheels on my truck. I have posted in here on rebuilding my front end as well but I think that if I do the leaf swap first I will know how much the front needs to come up to level. What is the deal with the leaf hangers. Can I get more flex by using different hangers?

you flip hangers for more flex. it allows more droop. explorer leafs will bolt in, you can play with them but id just bolt them up.

Longer shackles should help with flex some as well.

does anyone know if the top leaf of the explorer and ranger are the same??????? because i was thinking for ease i would just swap the bottom leaves off an explorer to my ranger because the bushings will prolly be froze in there when i go to pull them at the junk yard.
