Does anyone know if the explorer in 1994 with the 4.0 used a different air inlet hose from the MAF to the throttle body then the Ranger did?

I don't think so. But if you're trying to mess with the two-row radiator, it uses a different fan shroud, so it may seem so. Use the one-row fan shroud with a two-row radiator, and the intake tube will prevent the hood from closing.

ok, well here is what I ran into. It's my own doing because of the body lift. I put a 4 core explorer radiator in my range 4.0, and with the 3.0" of body lift, the hose does not want to clear the radiator. There is not enough room between the throttle body and the radiator for the hose. I'm going to have to modify the hose. Thanks

No, you just need the correct fan shroud. Visit the junkyard.

There is no 4row for any RBV, nor do you need it. Most RBVs had 1rows. The 2row is an option on some Explorers.

Yes, the hose is different.

Ford rearrainged the engine bay on the rangers for 1993.
the Explorer maintained the 90-92 engine bay layout until the end of 1994.

BTW, how did radiators get into this discussion?

The

Yup. Sploder tube is different than the Ranger 3.0.

When I put in the larger rad I was able to modify the fan shroud (trim) and modify the clips at the bottom of the rad to hold the shroud. Since the larger rad has the clips further apart than the normal single core rad. Wasn't too bad. So it is possible to skip a trip to the junkyard.
