Exhaust leak sound coming from passenger side

I test drove a truck today, found out that there is a sound that sounds like there is an exhaust leak coming from under the floor board. Could there be an exhaust leak where the manifolds join the rest of the exhaust system?

you better hope its not where the manifolds meet the y pipe. if it is, you better get to know your friend mr. pb blaster. this is a very problematic spot for older trucks. not only are they a pain to reach they are more than likely going to snap. hopefully in your case its at the cat and not the y pipe

^ serious pain in the ass to reach..especially that back bolt.

Mine leaked from there because one of the flanges were warped. I used two gaskets and a ton of Ultra copper to seal it shut. It's been fine for months.

Don't let that keep you from buying an otherwise nice truck!
