so ontop of the other things that ive been tryin to fix my alternater took a dump on me. the bearings seized. i never had a issue with that. put in a reman and then the batt light was on and my battery would go dead over 2 to 3 days. replaced the alt and batt. no change. replace the alt again, batt again and voltage reg this time. it has been great. till today. my batt went dead on my way to my buddies. also my front speakers stopped working. im pretty shure its the connnections. why the hell cant i figure this pile of crap out?

the chargeing system is crap
the motor seems happy one min then pissed the other.

im starting to think i should just shoot the damn thing:annoyed:

Sounds like you may not have an alt or bat issue, but a wiring issue. May want to check out what i wrote in non rbv in 89 f150 about that and see if you have a bad starting/ charging system wire.... juggalos dont die

I mean, it's not voodoo--you keep fixing the wrong thing.

There's no satisfaction in shooting it if you don't have a howitzer. With a .44 Magnum it's BANG-DING and the truck is still there and you'd have to search all over for the little hole.

im just at my wits end guys. i cant even keep it going to drive it...all my wires are not cracked or split. they seem just fine.

Buy a CR-V. They were designed to 1/10 the failure rate of a Ford so for every ten Fords with charging problems there will be one Honda.

What manuals do you have for this truck? Do you have a multimeter? I generally avoid helping people troubleshoot because it really takes a special kind of person to troubleshoot.

i have a haynes. and i also have a volt meter. i was looking at my recipt for when i got this alt replaced and they have kept giveing me the 98 amp one. not the 130 one i asked for:annoyed: im going to get the 130 and see if that does the trick before i do anything else:icon_thumby:

increasing the amps output rating doesnt mean jack squat with stock wires and certinaly wont help your problem, the stock 98 amp alt. with the what like 10 or 12 ga charging wires will only allow for 40-60 amps or enough to run the trucks vitals and acc's.

your best bet would be to consult your haynes or chiltens wiring diagrams and check to see if you have bad connections on the system, ECC cleaner and allot of patiance and perhaps some new wire will most likely fix your problem,if all the wires have continuity and a resistance rating that fits the wire according to the wire ga. it could be the connections at the fuse box inside the engine or fusebox to batt. or the fusebox it self.

be sure to check your ground wires as well to make sure theres at least a complete circuit.

good luck and hope you find and fix your problem!

going to start looking over wires right now. sleep? whats that? its times when i cant sleep that im glad i have a truck.....

check all your terminals. make sure there tight. make sure your ground is grounded properly with no corrsion. make sure your starter isnt loose. the starter is part of the grounding circuit. if you cnat find the problem, take it to a mechanic and tell them to perform a vat-40 test. a vat-40 test will diagnose the charging system.

hey look at that another co. member! dident even see that. let me know how your search goes!

ok so all my wires look good. the only one that makes me wonder a little is the power wire is showing bare wire. so im going to replace it after i get to class tomorrow and see if thats the problem.

It definately has enough wire to use 100amps.

What motor and truck is this? I'll try and scan you some factory info.
