So last week I was leaving walmart and I had quite a few things on my mind. I was standing outside my drivers side door trying to unlock it but the dang key wouldnt turn. I fiddled with it for approximately 10 seconds and then someone came up to me with a very confused look and asked what the heck I was doing. So I told him my key wouldnt turn and it was pissing me off. He just started laughing and said.. "well, that makes sense since this isnt your truck"... and immediately I realized he was right. He pointed over another row and asked me if that was my truck. Sure as shit it was. So I apologized and walked over to my truck. Slightly embarrassing, but at least the guy had a sense of humor. This ever happened to you guys?

lol never happened to me but im glad the guy had a laugh. some people might not have been so amused.

All the time. I keep hopping into my boss's truck thinking it is a customer's because he parks in front of the show room and always drives a black F-150 as his demo.

have you seen my B2?
no it doesn't happen... ever.

Had a Focus wagon, middle of Winter so it was dirty. Came out of the store, down the asle, got to "my car", pushed the fob to open the rear hatch and the car next to it popped it's hatch. Both grey wagons and covered wiith salt. Duh!

i own the only 2 tan 1st gen rangers in northwest arkansas so ive never had that problem.. although it seems like any ford ingnition switch key will work in one of the trucks with a little wiggling....

I saw a guy at Wawa with a ranger and was BS'ing with him one day. Tried my key for shits and giggles, didn't work. Tried my keys between my 2 rangers and it didn't work. At least in the door.

Sometime I'll remember to check the ignition between the 2.

Couldnt help but start laughing before I even read this thread. Hasnt ever happened to me but ive come close to it.

That happened to my Grandma. My Aunt and her went shopping and she went to what she thought was her car and got inside it. My aunt was like "Mom, your car is over here" quite embarrassing for Grandma and gave my aunt a good chuckle.

Had a friend in college that bought a brand new '94. My '93 keys would open his door with a little jiggle and start it up. His keys couldn't open my doors or start the ignition. Had fun moving his truck all over town for a couple years.

Happened to me and my brother...we went into a store to buy supplies and came out, jumped in the car and he couldn't get the key in the ignition...forget what made us look but there, two cars over, was our car...exact same colour, model, and number of doors...not so uncommon...Buick something or other...

:icon_rofl: Could have happened to anybody but props to you for having the sense of humor to post it up for us.

Honestly I can remember almost doing that a few times when the 3rd gens were more common (10yrs ago) but lately it seems like there are less Rangers like mine around and some of the ones I do see are, well, no longer in their prime. "Did I have the one that looks halfway decent or the one sagging from a broken shackle with garbage piled up over the bedrails and duct tape keeping the windows up?"

I had a blue Gran Torino w/white top back in the day. I came out from grocery shopping (Grand Union) w/ 2 sacks & ready to open the door. I stopped and said out loud, "why do I have chrome on my car" ?? I then realize it was a Mercury w/ same color scheme. The owner was behind me laughing his head off. My car was 2 rows over-

Yep........I was standing there wearing the UNLOCK button out on the remote........then realized I was standing by the wrong car... :icon_bounceblue:

Nope, never had that happen to me, my Ranger is one of a kind. Just to find my Ranger in a parking lot, I look for the red tip of the white CB antenna. From there, when I see it, I know thats it.
