Ever got the post office to apply postage in bulk?

Anyone know if there's a way to get the post office to apply postage to a few hundred postcards to get the bulk rate? Not sure if they can run them through a machine and apply the postage to them. It would be faster and cheaper than applying stamps.

I know it's possible, but not sure the route to take to get it. There may be a minimum number of pieces to qualify. Have you called or contacted USPS to see what the requirements are? I used to work in the Mail room for "Depot. of Revenue" for the Sate of Florida and we used a bulk rate of $.42 per piece ( first class rate). BUT we pre-sort the mail, which means the pieces have been sorted according to ZIP code and all the PO has to do is weigh it, to determine the actual price and adjust, if needed, then send it. (Also we're talking 60-85k pieces a day, every work day of the year) I also know that if you have your own postage meter, you can save money through that.

TL-DR : I would contact the USPS and see what options are available. If this is only for "Holiday Usage" I wouldn't expect much of a discount. If she could use it year round, then maybe she can get some type of savings.

Presorted standard is the cheapest way to mail something.

The last time I seen it done was years ago for the VFW Post. If I remember correctly, the Post had an account with the Post office in order to get it done. That was maybe 10 years ago and I was just the guy who took the post cards to the Post office.
