Escorts 2nd SAS


Sounds like it still has a vacuum leak. Check all the lines. There is one running to the HVAC plenum that gets over looked. Or intake gaskets.

Another problem I've had lately is when starting it once warm, it wants to backfire every now and then. And when it does, it blows off one of the vacuum port plugs. I didn't realize it was missing for a few days and wondered why it was running rough at idle.....now it won't idle lower than 1000 Ron's. It used to idle around 600-800 rpm's. Anyone have any ideas why it idles so high now?

My F150 is very similar without the back firing. I was told to check the MAF sensor and MAP sensor. IAC could be it on your too though.
 
IAC is new, and I checked for leaks with the starting fluid trick. There is no vacuum leaks.

The one line runs up under the dash. I had that one pop off on my 94 behind the glove box. Idled high and drove me nuts.

Since the daylight savings time has changed, it is dark when I go to work and dark when I leave work. I drive all country roads. A few weeks ago someone hit an Amish's horse on the road, and last week I almost hit a dear.
I haven't had brights since I did the HID conversion and the Hella's where on a toggle switch only. So I rewired them to operate off the high/low beam switch and then added my other set of Hella. Both on separate switches and relays.

Yes, makes it much easier to turn them on and off.
Plus the added light makes a big difference

No, it still idles at 1k. I'm not to worried about it right now, I need to address the trackbar issue first.

Should I make a new trackbar with rodends on both ends or just replace the worn bushing at the axle end? I want to make it last longer than the current one but still keep the ride the same.
What does everyone suggest?
