Actually many people run WJ knuckles and 15" rims. A lot of the info saying it is not possible stems from people trying to use OEM jeep 15"s or aftermarket aluminum rims (which are both thicker and leave less room than a similar steel wheel) and doing the WJ swap. Steel rims with the right amount of backspacing should fit fine. I have 15" steel rims with 3.75" of backspacing and I got the wj knuckles/offset TREs/Akebono calipers to clear just fine.
