Escorts 2nd SAS

I actually washed my truck inside and out yesterday. Man, I didn't realize my truck was so dented. It has now been dubbed "The wrinkley pig".

You have a long way to go my friend...

I haven't washed mine yet. I'm sure under all that mud is some more dents and scratches.

Eh, mine has been leaking for years. It keeps my steering lubed up.

Sweet pics by the way! My Ranger is almost ready for that trip. Just a week late...

Next time you WILL have to go. We had a blast.
Hopefully I can make time to go in June.

l8r, John

I knew you would comment. Lol. I think NMB2 has all of us beat in the raisin race.

Cleaned the truck today, found a few more scratches but no dents.

Also....since the truck is clean, I need to find where exactly and why the steering box is leaking. Already gone through 2 quarts in 3 days.

Mine leaks at the high pressure line fitting at the pump. Its slow but every month have to add a little.

mine leaked at the splined portion above my pitman arm real bad threw in some stop leak never had a problem for two years

To do the hydro assist, i need to take apart, tap, and rebuild the box. So hopefully i don't have to get another one cause of a crack or bent shaft.....etc.

I would get anothet box and do it that way, unless that's what you were going to do. Also If I remember right, you have to run the same size pulley as your crank shafts too, if it already isn't that way.

I have noticed that in the last few months the steering has been getting worse. If sitting still, the steering has a lot resistance. Almost takes two hands to get the wheel to turn. Not sure if it has anything to do with it.

Mine is the same way.

Leaks oil out of the high pressure side.

Slow, but steady leak.

Also, when up against something, or not rolling the steering is like you say, almost two handed.

Hopefully I will be putting in an AGR box/pump combo in the next month or two.

Then after the SAS I will have the stock box to rebuild, drill and tap for hydro-assist, placed on the shelf and ready to go when I feel the need (and of course then selling the AGR box).:icon_thumby:

Our maybe go to a saginaw pump. I have been thinking about going that route.
