thinking about putting an electric fan in my ranger. Is there a factory fan off another ford product that bolts in?

I did it once on a thunderbird that I did a 351 swap in. There wasn't enough room left in the engine bay for the belt fan, so I went electric and fabricated my own brackets, so I can do that if needed, but it'd be nice if there was a bolt in option without paying $200+ for an aftermarket.

gas mileage. For a $30 junkyard fan, 1mpg is worth it. I don't want to hear about how you don't. It's plenty cold here that an efan would never be turned on for months at a time.

If your fan clutch is working properly, your OEM fan won't engage either!

stick your fingers in the fan when it's not engaged and tell me it's not always dragging. weather the whole world agrees with it or not, clutch fans do drag all the time and if he wants to put an e-fan it let him. he didn't ask for an argument.

alot of peple use the e-fans out of the tarus. also the stock 2.3 mustangs had e-fans. at least the turbo versions did.

Did I tell him he couldn't put an e-fan on??????

Obviously he has been mislead about e-fans like you have!!! :headbang:

i run the stock fan on my truck. and i'm not boasting any gains from an e-fan, but to say that the stock fan provides 0 drag is wrong. your signature is classic.

Let him throw his money away and have to replace it with the stock set up in a few months anyway.

Try a Taurus fan one of the best ones out there for conversions. pulls more air than most

Nowhere did I say 0, but the drag is negligible.

My signature is a quote from Alland, thanks!

Drop it Bob.

If a person wants an efan, they will put it on there. They do have their pros and cons, same as the mechanical fan.

haha, mjones ur signature is prbably the best one yet. that is awsome. i seriously lol'ed.

touchy subject. I'll have to consult my local physicist on how energy is apparently free!

I would not be touching it, but since the clutch isn't working anyways...
It spins, pulling lots of air as soon as you start the motor... and it's 7F out.

Use the fan from just about ANY year 3.8 liter Taurus...... I used one in my old Dart pushing 450hp from a 318, in the middle of summer (100*+ summers here), the car NEVER got over 190*.......
