The clutch is supposed to spin, if it dont then its broken
no, the fan is spinning.... when the water temp is ~10F. That is wrong.

I guess Chrysler/Jeep have been mislead as well since my '06 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a FACTORY efan on it as well as all the '05+ Grand Cherokee's with the 3.7L v6.Obviously he has been mislead about e-fans like you have!!!![]()

As usual Maurice, your missing an important fact! If the manufacturer uses an e-fan in the cooling system design, he makes changes like increasing the radiator capacity to compensate for the reduced airflow of the e-fan.
I think AllanD brought this out in one of your previous e-mail discussions.
Add-ons won't have this!
Newly designed shroud, higher capacity radiator, different style thermostat, etc. Designing a system from the ground up for efan is much different than a band aid fan setup.
Those of you who doubt BOB, maybe you take your efan truck and drive with another identical truck on the highway up hill for several minutes then quickly get out of your rigs and use a temp gun to measure the temp at the radiators you will see under stress a band aid efan will not be as efficient (I have done this with wranglers and cherokees)
Why do you always compare Ranger's to heavy diesel trucks? Do you not realize that a Ranger is not and will not ever have the same capacity as a 3/4 or 1 ton truck?Even aftermarket e-fan manufacturers don't recommend their e-fans for primary cooling with heavy heat loads:

Unlike physics, there is no such thing as a frictionless surface. So there is always a tiny amount of power going to the fan, and since the fan has little to no resistance, it will spin. Start your engine and let it run for a few minutes, then take a piece of cardboard and slowly stop the fan blades with it. If you can stop the fan with a piece of cardboard, your clutch is working.

Goodness...
Can an Electric Fan cool an RBV just fine? Yes
Will you see any powergains/fuel effeciency from one? No
Bam. Discussion over

ok i have been running a efan for the last 3 years the mileage i gain i saw after doing this swap was about 1 to 2 miles in the city and 2to 3 on the high way the one problem i found is that in the summer (i live in south carlina) can run hot in traffic but a raditor out of a v6 rbv sould work just fine, but i am having problems finding in the junk yard because i have a manuel. the only power in think i gained is the fact that the engine will go thouth the rpm rang faster
