efan

I put an e-fan on my 88 cause the clutch went out on the m-fan.
I had everything lieing around so it didn't cost me much just some connectors.
the truck heats up faster and runs just fine.
I do believe that I gained no power though but it is a 2.0 so I wasn't expecting much.
as for an e-fan not working good enough I ain't buying it. My 95 mustang has a built 351 and it is running the stock e-fan and it works just fine.

Its a DESIGNED efan system not aftermarket.... and efan will never help a marginal system

ok pritry sure a 351 was not an option in 95 so that cooling sytem would be after market(small block cooling with a big block not happening)

He was pritry (sic) clear about it being a STOCK electric fan. Also, a 351 is not a big block.

now on my 07 4.0 the fan sounds like its running double that it should, and it is LOUD, the only time it goes off is when i go through water...sorry to get away from the question but ive been curious about e-fans

Does your fan spin freely when the engine is off?

it will always rotate no matter what as it should, If it rotates by hand with a little resistance then you are golden

And you honestly think he's talking about a 351M in a '95 Mustang? While I'll admit it's a possibility, it's a pretty small one.

You never know, there were 3 versions of a 351.

Right, and two of them were small blocks. Only one could be considered a big block, and it was not widely considered a performance engine, and also not produced since 1982.

ok he said stock fan not stock cooling system whech is what i said

Even aftermarket e-fan manufacturers don't recommend their e-fans for primary cooling with heavy heat loads:

The only reason I am pointing this out is because I didnt see where any one else has. In the red circle that I assume you put on that pic, it says not recommended when CGVR is over 18,000 pounds. I am in no way trying to start anything. It does seem that some folks are set in their ways. I think at this point it wouldnt matter if you were proved wrong that you would admit it. Some people cant help that they are narcissistic a$$holes

some of us have invested time and lots of money doing long term experiements with efan setups and have determined there is no advantage save maybe 1 mpg. I tested on several different types of vehicles and kept logs of MPG. I have spent hours on desert highways waiting for rigs to cool down.

Will they work YES, do they work as well as stock NO. Will you have any problems only time will tell.

If you do an efan setup follow a few tips that experience has taught me.

Buy the fan that fits closest to stock size that moves the highest CFM you can find.

enclose your efan in as tight of a surround as possible.

Place your fan on an adjustable Tstat so during the summer or during stressful trips you can have the fans turn on sooner.

If you wheel off road, install an over ride switch to shut it off during water crossings

IF you have any cooling issues fix them first because an efan setup will not solve your problem.

Hope this helps abit

85 4X$ with a WAAAAAYYYYY not stock 302
94 V-8 mustang single core alum. rad. with stock 2 speed e-fan and shroud and adjustable t-stat.
195* t-stat. in the motor.
I only have the fan wired for low.Last summer it would idle for over 40 minutes (was trying to make it over heat to see if I needed to wire it for high speed) and take several WFO trips around the back 40 with 0 issues. It would barley make it to 210*.
Gas milage....not an issue (would have stayed with the 2.8 for that).
DC power........160 amp alt with 2 AGM batteries in the bed....NO problem!

What I dont have is a 6 pound fan in my way while Im tweaking the dist. trying to remove my fingers.......although when the fan kicks on it will remove my hat if Im in the right spot.
Just my 2.
That and $1.50 will get you chips and a drink.
